Limousine to Protect the Pope

The Pope is one of the most influential figures in the world and whenever he goes anywhere, there are crowds of well wishers and onlookers. There are however, many people from whom the Pope must be protected, and this is why the Pope’s transport is very important.

The Pope must not only be transported in comfort and style befitting his position but he must also be able to be easily protected from any who wish him harm. So as you can imagine the Pope has many luxury vehicles in his possession for his use, comfort and protection.

The most recent addition to Pope Benedict’s holy garage is a VW Phaeton which was presented to him at the end of last year by the Chairman of the Board of Management at Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Dr. Bernd Pischetsrieder.

The VW Phaeton which was presented to the Pope in Vatican City is a long wheelbase version with a sleek black exterior. The Pope’s limousine is powered by a 450 hp, 6 litre W12 engine and has been specially equipped to cater to the individual privacy and comfort needs of the Pope, ensuring that while the new limousine is armour plated, it is not obvious or intrusive.

Pope Benedict apparently also has a penchant for VWs as he owned a Volkswagen Golf before he was appointed to the top job. The Pope’s original Golf was later sold online for almost a quarter of a million dollars.

The new Phaeton is sure to be a welcome addition to Pope Benedict’s garage and will no doubt be excellent advertising for the comfort and style of the new VW long wheelbase limousine.
